Privacy Policy
This site sells a book about protecting your personal data. It would be absurd to be vague about our own, so this policy is specific: exactly what is collected, by whom, and what you can do about it.
- We do not have a server that stores your personal data. There is no database and no account system.
- The free tools never transmit what you type. Names, addresses and ticks stay in your own browser.
- We use three third-party advertising tags: Google Ads, the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, and the Whop pixel. All three set identifiers and are used for advertising measurement. Details below, including how to turn each one off.
- Payment is handled entirely by Whop. We never see your card details.
- Questions or requests: support@getghostprotocol.com
Who runs this site
getghostprotocol.com is an independent publisher of The Ghost Protocol, a paid PDF guide to removing your personal information from data brokers. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any company named on this site.
Contact for any privacy question, data request, refund or complaint: support@getghostprotocol.com. We aim to answer within two business days.
The free tools — what they do and don't do
The Exposure Check, Removal Tracker and Opt-Out Request Generator run entirely as JavaScript in your browser.
- Nothing you type into them is sent to us. There is no endpoint to send it to. The name, address, city and company details you enter are used to build links and assemble text on your own device, and are never transmitted to this site.
- Your ticks and statuses are stored in your browser's local storage, on your device only. They do not sync between devices, we cannot read them, and clearing your browsing data deletes them permanently.
- When you click a link the tools generate, you go to a third party (Google, Bing, or a data broker's own site). What happens there is governed by their privacy policies, not ours.
The three advertising tags described below — Google Ads, the Meta Pixel and the Whop pixel — are present on every page of this site, including the tool pages. None of them reads your form inputs, and none is capable of it. But they are third-party scripts, and we would rather say so plainly than let "runs in your browser" imply the page is script-free. If you want the tools with no third-party code running at all, block googletagmanager.com, connect.facebook.net and t.whop.tw, or use any content blocker. Every tool keeps working normally.
Google Ads conversion tracking
We advertise this book. To know whether an advert actually led to a sale, we use Google Ads conversion tracking (tag ID AW-18415448204) on all pages.
What it collects: cookies and similar identifiers, your IP address, browser and device information, the pages you view on this site, and whether you reached a purchase confirmation page. It is provided by Google, and Google is an independent data controller for this information.
What it does not collect: anything you type into the free tools, and any content of a purchase beyond the fact that one occurred.
How to switch it off:
- Adjust Google's own ad settings at myadcenter.google.com
- Opt out industry-wide at optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org
- Use a content blocker, or block
googletagmanager.com— nothing on this site breaks if you do
Google's own policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
Meta (Facebook) Pixel
We advertise on Facebook and Instagram. To measure whether those adverts lead to sales, we run the Meta Pixel (dataset ID 2340462626760252) on all pages. It loads from connect.facebook.net.
What it collects. Cookies and similar identifiers (including Meta's _fbp cookie and, where present, the fbclid click identifier), your IP address, browser and device information, the pages you view on this site, and which of the following actions you take:
| Event | When it fires | What it sends |
|---|---|---|
PageView | Every page | That a page was viewed |
ViewContent | The sales page | Product name, $10.00 USD |
InitiateCheckout | You click a buy button | Product name, $10.00 USD |
Purchase | The confirmation page after payment | Order reference, $10.00 USD |
What it does not collect. Anything you type into the free tools. We do not send Meta your name, email address, or any other directly identifying information — we do not operate Advanced Matching, and we do not upload customer lists.
Meta is an independent controller of the data it receives, and processes it under its own terms. See Meta's Privacy Policy and Business Tools Terms.
How to switch it off:
- Adjust your Meta ad preferences at accountscenter.facebook.com/ad_preferences
- Opt out industry-wide at optout.aboutads.info
- Block
connect.facebook.netwith any content blocker — nothing on this site breaks if you do
The Whop pixel
Checkout happens on Whop's domain, not ours. To connect an advert click on this site to a completed purchase over there, we run Whop's own analytics pixel (business scope biz_WdTzcuqqt2m2SE) on all pages. It loads from t.whop.tw.
What it collects: a page-view signal, an identifier used to match your visit here to a later purchase on Whop, plus standard request data such as IP address, referrer and browser information.
What it does not collect: anything you type into the free tools. It records that a page was viewed, not what you did on it.
How to switch it off: block t.whop.tw with a content blocker, or use a browser that blocks third-party tracking by default. Nothing on this site breaks if you do. Whop's privacy policy: whop.com/privacy.
Payment and your purchase
Checkout is handled entirely by Whop on their own platform. We do not process, see, or store card numbers.
To deliver the book and honour free updates, Whop holds your email address and order record, and shares with us the information needed to fulfil and support the sale. Whop's privacy policy governs that data: whop.com/privacy.
If you email us for support, we hold that email thread — your address and whatever you write — for as long as needed to help you and to keep a record of any refund. Nothing more.
Cookies
| Set by | Purpose | Can you refuse it? |
|---|---|---|
Google Ads (_gcl_* and similar) | Attributing a purchase to an advert | Yes — see the opt-outs above |
Meta Pixel (_fbp, fbclid) | Measuring Facebook/Instagram ad performance | Yes — block connect.facebook.net |

| This site | None. We set no cookies of our own. | — |
| Local storage (tools) | Remembering your ticks on your own device | Yes — don't use the tools, or clear site data |
Local storage is not a cookie and is never transmitted anywhere. It exists only in your browser.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, to object to processing, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of it. That includes UK GDPR and EU GDPR, and US state privacy laws including the CCPA/CPRA.
We hold very little. In practice, a request to us covers your support email thread. Requests about your order should also go to Whop; requests about advertising identifiers should go to Google and Meta using the links above. We will tell you plainly which of the three holds what.
Email support@getghostprotocol.com and we will respond within one month, as required. We do not charge for this and we will not ask you to create an account to exercise a right.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
We do not sell personal information for money. However, under the CCPA/CPRA the use of advertising cookies for cross-context behavioural advertising — which is what the Google, Meta and Whop tags above do — is treated as "sharing". California residents have the right to opt out.
To opt out, do any of the following:
- Use the opt-out links in the sections above for Google, Meta and Whop
- Enable Global Privacy Control in your browser — we honour a GPC signal as an opt-out request
- Block
googletagmanager.com,connect.facebook.netandt.whop.twwith any content blocker - Email support@getghostprotocol.com with "Do Not Share" in the subject
We do not knowingly share the personal information of anyone under 16.
Children
This site is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
If we add or remove anything that collects data, this page is updated and the date at the top changes. There is no mailing list to notify, because we don't run one.
Email support@getghostprotocol.com. A real person answers, and "I want everything you have on me deleted" is a perfectly normal thing to send us.
